[EXTERNAL] -Photos for Mark
It’s very sad to hear of Mark’s passing. I was fortunate in my younger years to be able to travel to the US from London, for 1 or 2 conventions including OUSA and PCOC, and I was blessed to meet him there. He immediately demonstrated his kind loving nature and his character of sharing. From giving away loads of his handmade origami badges (which my mum wears all the time with her Saris) to giving away photocopies of diagrams he had collected over time. I will miss his fun, loving qualities and I pray he will rest in peace. ReplyDeleteMy condolences, Arlene.
ReplyDeleteI just posted my reflections here:

Had also emailed earlier to a gmail address provided to the Origami-L; not sure if that reached you. It included a video clip link of a young girl playing with a Polypopagon/Leaping Willy and her delightful reaction. Point being, her joy was because I had taught it to her and Mark had taught it to me. His joy and influence spreads wide and will continue to filter and move through the world.
How special that you captured an interaction between him and a child. This video is priceless.
DeleteThank you, Mike, for sharing this! Enjoyed seeing Mark tell these jokes- brought back many fond memories...including those of “squeaking” children!
DeleteOh Dear Arlene, I am sending you love, hugs, prayers for comfort. Love, Mary
