Fwd: Get well Mark!

From: Zsuzsanna Kricskovics

Dear Mark and Arlene,

long time we did not meet, - but memories can not fade by time.
We met thee times only, twice in NY and once in York.

I am happy and proud that I can say I was one who could take part of your famous "afterparty". My memories - just splinters: driving to your home we had a stop on the opposite side to see the NewYork lights and made some photos. Later, already in darkness, driving on the road and it was the first time in my life to feel the famous smell of a skunk :)
You let me sleep in your daughter's room - such a girlie feeling :)
Next day I was honored to cook a goulash, and had some helping hands to pinch the noodles in - which disappeared later in the thick stew :) Your chili con carne was delish.
I remember your kitchen, with the dozens of different cereal boxes. The giant garlic on the window-ledge
I remember the shock to see you grill the bacon and then put them on a kitchen towel - while in my culture we use up the gravy of the bacon  dipping bread in it and often left the bacon itself on the side of the plate :)
I remember the many ice bags we brought from the shop and the laarge container we poured in.. and the bottles of different drinks. Also remembering the tidy-up day, when packed the empty bottles in boxes but first checked the inside of the cap - for a winning code :)
Mark, you showed us the half-made pins which just dried, the rolls of paper, the huge piles of books. You let us deep in your life, let us turn your house upside down... let us into your heart.
Arlene, thanks for the walk and visit to see a trout-school and nursery where those wonderful fish were living in tanks - also the giant turtle in the pond - also that I could see beavers living wild first time - and  you showed me that a flower I like and have in my garden - is a spicy and edible one :)
Of course I met wonderful people in your house and we were folding like mad until our eyes dropped close -but I keep the little memories of private life and smile, when I think of you.

I know you are strong , and be strong, please, - cancer can grab anyone, me too, 8 year ago - I did my fight, - you do it now. You will do well.

If each and every people to whom you did good, gave a pin, made them smile - had healing power, it should blow like a strong wind and blew away your illness, pick you up from the bed, lift in the air in a spin while bringing you back home, let down to your porch, to sit comfy, with a pack of paper nearby...

Sending hugs and love, to both of you.

Susanna
