Dear Mark,

We've only met a few times (in Italy in 2012, for one, and at a Sunday folding session at the museum a really long time ago), but I remember how welcoming you were at the museum to this first-timer and out-of-towner. At the CDO convention, I spent too much energy worrying about my Italian, but you just spread warmth and happiness and enthusiasm. When I replied to your funny Trump-eclipse email I mentioned that I'd been trying to figure out the Traubenbox that you and Arlene taught, and you sent me instructions. I've photographed three of the boxes. Maybe the name should really be Knoblauchbox? It does look like garlic to me.

So I hope with all my heart that the warmth and joy that you've given to me and so many others comes back to you now. I'm thinking of you and wishing you all the best.
