Mark,
Jan's posting on the origami-l has left me quite numb and determined to let you know that 12,000 miles you are being thought of. I know I've been a lousy communicator over recent years but I always used to enjoy those out of the blue Skype calls, the diagram top ups, news of mutual friends, and recollections of the many times we have been in each other's company. So for a dear friend I've selected a picture of myself in my Rotorua studio at my work table. The sense of order depicted in the image is a result of many years playing, occasionally making something for $ with which I could keep playing until the next distraction came along. As well as something new to fold it could just as easily be cold, heat, rain leaks, flooding, snails, and mould. The building is part of a cobbled conglomeration of outer buildings in various states of repair. All part of a once operating garden nursery centre.
This sense of order I referred to was something I knew you would be able to relate to. As I seem to recall you were an expert in creating similar arrays when playing. So I hope that through the journey of this illness you are finding time to play and be distracted.
Try this…
View the picture again and see if you can find..
- Me
- Waldo
- Buggatti
- Fuse mask
- Moravian star
- Sphere made from plastic triangles & squares
- Hyperbolic Parabola
- Butterfly
- Tesselation 1pc
- Robert Lang 'Colleen Pot' variation
There you've been successfully distracted, I knew you could do it.
Love ya man,
JB
