I wonder if this is from Ocean Grove, NJ? I’m not much of a swimmer or sunbather - so I fondly remember Mark teaching me how to fold a Galapagos turtle out of handpainted foil he made while everyone else was in the water. I still have the model along with so many special memories of Mark 💙
Yes, Arlene- you are correct- Rachael confirmed it yesterday. Looked a bit similar to OG- but now I remember we were folding under a big beach umbrella!
It’s very sad to hear of Mark’s passing. I was fortunate in my younger years to be able to travel to the US from London, for 1 or 2 conventions including OUSA and PCOC, and I was blessed to meet him there. He immediately demonstrated his kind loving nature and his character of sharing. From giving away loads of his handmade origami badges (which my mum wears all the time with her Saris) to giving away photocopies of diagrams he had collected over time. I will miss his fun, loving qualities and I pray he will rest in peace.
